Mortgages & Contents Insurance

We cannot predict our future health or when an accident, illness or even death, might suddenly strike. But if the unexpected does happen, the financial consequences for you and your family could be devastating.

The State provides certain benefits on death or illness. However, these are rarely enough to cover all your needs and not everyone qualifies for benefits. That's where life assurance and other protection plans come in.

Each of us has our own financial priorities, whether it is to maintain our financial freedom or to ensure the financial security of our family. Protection policies have a broad range of uses and can be tailored to suit your individual needs and priorities.

PROTECTING YOURSELF
If you are unable to continue working due to illness or disability, have you stopped to consider how you would manage?

PROTECTING YOUR FAMILY
Another important use for protection is to provide cover to help your family maintain the same standard of living that you enjoy today, in the event of an accident, long-term sickness or death.

POLICIES AVAILABLE:

LIFE ASSURANCE - This is usually taken over the term of your mortgage and will pay a lump sum (the sum assured) on death. The two main types available are level term that will pay the sum assured on death within the term. The other option available is decreasing term whereby the sum assured decreases in line with your mortgage debt.

LIFE ASSURANCE WITH CRITICAL ILLNESS - As above but with the extra benefit of paying the sum assured if you are diagnosed with one of a comprehensive list of conditions such as cancer, heart attack, loss of limb etc.

PERMANENT HEALTH INSURANCE (PHI) - This will pay a specified sum each month to cover the loss of your income through ill health. It is payable when you have an accident or illness where you cannot work and will continue making payments until you can return. It is a permanent policy so if you are later unable to work again the payments will recommence.

ACCIDENT, SICKNESS & UNEMPLOYMENT (ASU) - This will pay a specified sum monthly to cover your mortgage and bills in the event of accident, sickness or unemployment. It will usually only pay for a maximum of two years. The policy can be tailored to your needs such as accident or sickness only or unemployment only.
